I do not understand - it doesn't matter what one does with their art, gallery, journal, dev ID, dog/cat, car, underwear, pink sponge under the kitchen sink, etc. How does it affect your life? For all that I can see, it doesn't (if for some strange reason it does, then by all means... ). So why get all upset over it? What someone decides to do with their things is their business. Their reasons are their own and do not warrant your criticism. Chances are, if someone does something, it's for a reason. For example: years ago (we're talking 5 or more), I made an encouraging comment on an artist's website. Years after that, some troll crawled out from under their bridge and attempted to show their "offense" taken at the comment. Not that I care, it is just an example. But I am sure you can see what I am talking about... Hey, let's make another example!
Comment: "Oh, what a pretty picture of an amorphous blue blob!"
Troll: "i'm a defined green blotch and take offense to you calling an amorphous blue blob 'pretty!' i like justin bieber!"
Anyway...
So, please: before you get upset over something someone is doing with their things, or saying, or whatever, and it has nothing to do with you - stop. Stop and take just a few seconds to think: is this REALLY going to affect me in any way? Would YOU want someone berating you for something you chose to do? I think not. Also take into account that not everyone out there is going to be a strong person, and may become very upset over the unwanted attention. Please remember that there is a living, breathing human being on the other end of that keyboard. Keep an open mind! It's quite liberating.
Until I can see a time when this changes, I will continue to sulk in whatever digital muckhole I choose at that moment (this one has cupcakes, and we are quite pleased with it, Precious... In a month, my "hole" will be Skyrim) without talking much. But as this seems to be human nature, it's unlikely I'll be a "regular" any time soon.
Take care.
