Hooray!

I'm so happy! Our Gold Striped Maroon clownfish has taken to the bubble tip anemone we bought for her! We came home from my parents' this afternoon and she was poking it with her nose and backing her tail into it. Now she's fully snuggled in and tending to it! Our poor little Azure Damsel is very confused and has been intently watching her ever since. He's had a few run-in's with the anemone, and paid for it! "How can she do that, but it stings me in the butt?!" ;)

I'm so excited! I'll post some pics when she gets more established with her new home.

You have a salt water tank? Wow...that's a lot of work to keep maintained from what I've heard.

Yeah, we do. It is -a lot- of work, and it can be pretty expensive at first. We started out with just live rock and live sand in the tank, and let that sit there for a couple of months so all the little microbes and such could get settled and the water conditions evened out. Then we added in small crustaceans - just a few tiny hermit crabs and snails. It wasn't until a couple of weeks or more after that we were able to finally add our first fish. My fiance has to do weekly water changes and adds water daily just because of evaporation from the air conditioning. And since it's what's called an 'aggressive' community, we have to watch what we put in there and make sure nobody rips up the other. :S

It's definitely a lot more work than a freshwater aquarium, but the fish and invertebrates have a lot of color and personality to them, so it's very rewarding. =) Eventually we'd like to add some corals in.

I hope things continue to go well with it :). We used to have a fresh water tank a long time ago, but we eventually got tired of it.

Wow, the Wiki picture of the maroon clownfish is gorgeous. I'd love to see pictures of your one.
